In a rare moment of total bipartisan unity, the U.S. House of Representatives has voted unanimously to repeal a controversial provision in the government funding law.
The clause allowed Senators to sue the Department of Justice for up to $500,000 if their phone records were obtained without notifying them.
The provision sparked political uproar after Senate Republicans released FBI records tied to “Arctic Frost,” an investigation into the 2020 U.S. election.
Tonight’s vote sends a strong signal across Washington: lawmakers want the clause gone and fast.
A Senate vote is expected next, but the House’s unanimous decision already marks one of the strongest bipartisan moves in recent months.
