A major geopolitical revelation by The New York Times:
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro reportedly offered the United States access to a majority share of Venezuela’s massive 300+ billion barrels of oil reserves, the largest in the world.
According to the report, the offer came as a strategic attempt to ease sanctions and open a negotiation channel. However, Donald Trump initially rejected the proposal, declining direct talks with the Maduro government.
This revelation comes at a time when global energy markets are shifting, US–Latin America relations are tense, and Venezuela remains under strict sanctions.
Is a new chapter in US-Venezuela relations unfolding or is this another dead end in a long geopolitical standoff?
